The Chief Minister failed to show any leadership in the Parliament and the Minister responsible for Youth Justice showed she simply doesn’t care.
Opposition Leader Gary Higgins said the Opposition’s Censure Motion was an opportune moment for the Gunner Labor Government to tell Territorians, on the record, what they’re doing.
"This is a very important issue for Territorians, and we have heard loud and clear that crime, particularly youth crime, is a serious and escalating issue in our communities," Mr Higgins said.
"It is unbelievable that the Chief Minister and the Minister responsible for Youth Justice chose to stay silent during the debate - it mustn’t be a huge priority for them.
"As usual, it was up to the Attorney General and the Minister for Police to roll out the spin.
"There has been a shocking lack of leadership from this Gunner Labor Government. They remain soft on crime and are abjectly failing Territorians."
